During the week of February 8 - 11, students in grades K - 2 will create a mini-mall in the primary wing.  The mall hours will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 that week.  Each classroom will feature a special product or service.  All students in the school will be able to shop at the mall.

The mall presents an opportunity to expose students to many educational experiences.  Brochures, menus, job applications and advertisements reinforce reading and writing skills.  Buying, selling and making change will solidify math concepts.  Life skills will also be reinforced through organizational decision-making, team work, and time and material management.

Due to the number of students participating in the mall experience, we recommend that parent visitations are such:
    Monday, February 8 - Kindergarten parents
    Tuesday, February 9 - First grade parents
    Wednesday, February 10 - Second grade parents

If this doesn’t fit your schedule feel free to come on Thursday, February 11th.

May we suggest that your child have a job at home to earn money for the mini-mall.  This should give more meaning to the value of our currency.

We are sure that this will be both an educational and enjoyable experience for everyone.
