One of the primary ways The PCS-PTO achieves such a high level of support is through our fundraising initiatives. In addition to grant writing campaigns and corporate fund-raising campaigns, the PTO sponsors several school-wide fundraising drives, and several community-wide fundraising events every year.
It is our hope that every family at PCS will find a way to support the school, whether it is through volunteer efforts, monetary support, or both! We attempt to have a broad range of fundraising initiatives to appeal to the diverse interests in our PCS community!

- Boxtops for Education & Marketplace
There are several ways to earn money for PCS through the Box Top Program!
Clip! Box Tops for Education is simple way to earn money for PCS! Every coupon is worth 10 cents for our school! Just clip the coupons from hundreds of your favorite products and send them to school with your child! There is a collection box in the front office.
Shop Online! Start your online shopping trip at the Box Tops MarketplaceSM and earn up to $20,000 for our school each year! A percentage of your purchase will be donated to PCS when you shop at over 70 participating stores, such as Pottery Barn.com, Lands’ End, Oriental Trading and OfficeMax. It’s that easy! - Student Directories
An invaluable tool for everything from setting up a play date or birthday party to finding out what the evening’s homework assignment is, the Student Directory is a must have list of every PCS family’s contact information AND the official school calendar to boot! Our directory is re-compiled every year to provide the most up-to date information available. It costs $5.00, is sold every September at each of the PCS Open Houses, and can be purchased year round in the Main Office.
- Absentee Pads
Do you scramble to find paper to write a note to your child’s teacher? We do too! So, with the help of the front office, we’ve created official note paper to be used whether your child is absent or going to a friend’s house after school, or getting picked up for a doctor’s appointment. These pads do it all! In a notice-me shade of green, the office can recognize them immediately, and get your children to where they need to go! You can purchase them for $2.00 in the Main Office.
- Sally Foster Gift and Wrapping Paper
A perennial favorite, the fall wrapping paper sale is a great way to raise money for PCS programs while shopping for gifts and other useful items. This year, we were pleased to present Sally Foster’s high-quality product line.
- Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic book fair is held each fall during parent teacher conferences. It is also open to the children during the school day to make wish lists and to purchase books on their own. This is a great way for students to choose books that interest them, and for parents to encourage students for a job well done! Volunteers from the PTO work the book fair helping with set up, running the cash register, and assisting students in their choices.
- Gift Cards
The PTO sponsors a gift card sale every fall, with delivery in time for the holidays. With every purchase you make from hundreds of stores you frequent, including many local shops and eateries, the participating business will give a % of the purchase price back to PCS! Purchase them as gifts! You get 100% of what you paid for, and PCS gets a gift too!

Everyone loves chocolate! And these delicious chocolates are sure to please! Order in time for spring holidays!
- Mothers Day Plant Sale
Held every May on the Thursday and Friday before Mother’s Day, the Mother’s Day Plant Sale is is a wonderful opportunity for children to do something special for their mothers! Plant prices start at 25 cents, and volunteers assist children in all aspects of the plant selection process. What a great way for kids to express wonderful feeling of love and appreciation they feel for the women in their lives!

- PCS Holiday Craft Fair
The PCS Holiday Craft Fair attracts crafters from all over New England! Browse the multitude of unique and beautiful items, or enter to win one of the amazing items in the colossal raffle! With thousands of dollars worth of items donated by crafters and many local businesses, you’re sure to find something you just can’t do without!
- PCS Family fun Day
This great community event doubles as a fundraiser and a really fun day! Families from across Pomfret gather for delicious food, great entertainment, crafts, and carnival-like fun while PCS students walk laps around the playing fields to earn money for Enrichment Programs at PCS! The whole community is welcome!
