Whole School Assembly Enrichment Programs

Minds Alive!

Every year, the PTO aims to present a diverse range of programs, touching upon a broad range of disciplines including: Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Music, Cultural Arts and Character/Self-esteem Building. The Curriculum Enrichment Committee works hard to ensure that every program fits the needs of PCS students by:

  • Choosing juried programs that address Connecticut State Standards and the PCS Curriculum, often in a multi-disciplinary fashion.
  • Meeting with the administration, a team of teachers from every grade, and specials teachers to determine what kinds of programs they would like to have presented.
  • Evaluating programs in person, prior to every program’s presentation at PCS, to ensure a good fit.
  • Writing grants for matching state funds.
  • Soliciting written teacher evaluations after each presentation.
